University of Oregon (UO), established in 1876, is a public research university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university offers a wide range of academic programs across multiple disciplines.

As of Fall 2023, UO’s total enrollment stands at 23,834 students, comprising 19,970 undergraduates and 3,864 graduate students. The student body has a gender distribution of approximately 43.9% male and 55.7% female students. The university maintains a student-to-faculty ratio of 16:1, fostering an environment conducive to personalized learning and academic engagement.

University of Oregon offers more than 300 undergraduate programs and over 120 graduate programs, providing a diverse array of academic opportunities. Some of the most popular undergraduate majors include Business Administration, Psychology, Advertising, Human Physiology, and Social Sciences. The university’s academic structure encompasses the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Design, College of Education, Charles H. Lundquist College of Business, School of Law, and the School of Journalism and Communication, among others.

The 295-acre campus is home to over 80 buildings and serves as an arboretum with more than 4,000 trees representing around 500 species, providing a picturesque setting for academic pursuits. Eugene, located approximately 100 miles south of Portland, is renowned for its vibrant arts scene and abundant outdoor recreational opportunities, offering students a dynamic and enriching environment.

UO is also home to more than 30 research centers and institutes, such as the Center for the Study of Women in Society and the Northwest Indian Language Institute, underscoring its commitment to research and community engagement.
