Gaston School District (GSD) serves the small, close-knit community of Gaston, Oregon, located on the southwestern edge of Washington County. Established in 1866, Gaston School District has a long history of academic excellence and community support. Today, the district operates one K-12 campus with multiple buildings, educating approximately 564 students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

GSD is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children by offering a comprehensive educational experience that includes academic programs, athletics, and social development opportunities. The district benefits from strong community involvement, where parents, educators, and local organizations work together to ensure student success. Gaston School District participates in Oregon’s open enrollment program, allowing students from other districts to enroll if space is available.

Located 30 miles west of downtown Portland and 50 miles east of Tillamook State Forest, Gaston provides a peaceful, rural setting with access to both urban and outdoor recreational opportunities. With its small class sizes, personalized learning environment, and strong community connections, Gaston School District remains a top choice for families seeking a well-rounded, student-focused education in a supportive rural community.
